The Story So Far
In a Discord, far, far away, the character of Roo was brought to life. Years later, as one chapter ended another began. This is that adventure.
The Origin
"I swear, that dude is living my dream" I said to a friend in our Discord server as we talked about what games we had been playing recently. Later that evening, everything just clicked, what if...?
Now, like any good story we must first start at the end, then go back to the beginning, according to Inigo Montoya, at least.
So there I was at Discord HQ, it was my first day at the new job... wait, that's a little too far back. Hold on, let me calibrate the flux capacitor here.
Right, so I was working at Discord, then I took an arrow to the knee . After months of searching for a new party to join, I realized that I needed to start leveling solo. I started a small bookkeeping firm helping small businesses. I ran this business for a year and a half, all the while thinking back to the early days at Discord and my nearly 6 years there.
I loved the Gaming Industry, I've been gaming since 1996 when I got a Sega Genesis from a family friend and Mortal Kombat. Over the next 30 years I've played every genre, many of the greats, and even more indie games. The adventures are truly endless.
Now that you're mostly caught up, I kept thinking about that idea. A small indie game dev, building his own world, and then it clicked. I could do the same thing, in a totally different way, and bridge the gap between two worlds.
LedgerCraft
Welcome to my world. LedgerCraft, half bookkeeping, half gaming. A world where an adventuring party led by an adorable red panda travels the land helping other adventurers manage their gold.
The idea was simple. Help indie game devs and streamers stop chasing side quests and get back to their main story.
So I retired the old banner and turned on dark mode and hoisted the colors. New save file, new world, new party. The skills I'd been leveling carried over but everything else got a full reset. LedgerCraft isn't just new game plus, it's an entire rebuild. A fundamentally different approach to bookkeeping, built from the ground up for people who think in terms of save points and skill trees, not debits and credits.
WHY WE BUILT THIS FOR INDIE GAME DEVS AND STREAMERS
Indie game devs and streamers face this more than anyone. You're not running a traditional business. Your income streams are unpredictable. Your expenses don't fit neatly into someone else's categories. One month you're riding a wave of bounty payouts, the next you're scraping together upkeep just to keep the lights on. Most bookkeepers look at that and see a mess. We look at it and see another late night on Discord.
I spent nearly six years inside the gaming industry at Discord. I watched indie devs pour everything into building worlds. I watched streamers grind for every follower and every sub. And I watched too many of them lose precious time to financial side quests they were never equipped to handle. That's the gap LedgerCraft bridges. We speak your language because we've lived in your world. We handle the numbers so you can get back to the main story.
